ABOUT HONEY GROVE

Located in central North Texas, in eastern Fannin County, Honey Grove is just 45 minutes away from the metroplex.  It's a small, quaint town that is rumored to get it's name from Davy Crockett as he was traveling to fight at the Alamo.

Another claim to fame was in 2007 when a group of local high school students won a contest sponsored by CW and Sunkist and had an episode of One Tree Hill filmed here.

Most days you can see a farmer driving down the highway in a tractor or combine, as agriculture is a major industry.  From cotton fields to beautiful sunflower fields, there are photo opportunities around every corner!  If fields aren't your thing, you can drive around town and see beautiful historical homes and churches.  While you're out driving, you're likely to see painted quilt squares affixed to houses, buildings, and fences.  There are over 60 of these barn quilt squares in Honey Grove, in addition to many others across the State of Texas, as part of the barn quilt trail.

If you stop and talk to some of the locals, you're likely to hear it referred to as "Syrup City" and although Sugarland says they are the sweetest town in Texas, we beg to differ.  Honey Grove is a community where everyone cares about their neighbors and steps in to help when needed.  It is a community of giving, love, and support and a place you can raise your children where everyone looks out for other's as their own.  You will see children riding their bikes down the street or people out going for a stroll day and night, without fear.  You might even see a police officer stopped visiting with someone or getting a cold glass of lemonade from a kid's lemonade stand.
